TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU.
I dream. I wish. I hope. I pray. I try. I do. And with that quick prequel, I’ll introduce myself. I’m Karis. I would love to tell you I am a twenty-something-year-old, pulled-together, organized, detailed, fierce woman who attacks each day with a 10-step plan for success and that you are going to read blog post after blog post about how to create a perfectly styled life. Regrettably, that fairy tale story is one existing only in my dreams. The pages of my book are stained with Diet Coke, bronzer, lip gloss, and toothpaste, just to name a few, and I lose my keys, purse, shoes, laptop, phone, planner, and who knows what else (no illustration needed—you get the picture) at least 3 times a day. Currently blessed with a doll face of a husband and a little nugget (French bulldog) named Randall Pierre.
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO START BLOGGING?
Here is the long version: Because I want to invite you to pull up a chair and read a tragically flawed novel full of my quest for beauty, inspiration, glamour, style, and grace while my goofy, scattered self attempts to pen the words of the next chapter. All I know is what moves me, and I would love to show it to you whether it comes in the form of fashion, food, furnishings, fixtures, French Bulldogs—I digress. So, here I am. A girl who wants to share her life with you. If you’ll have me.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR BLOG AND WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO SHARE WITH YOUR FOLLOWERS?
I want my followers to see much more than pretty pictures of fashion and lifestyle. I want them to see my heart, life, and personality. The blog allows me to cast a wide net and hopefully reach people whom I would not necessarily come in contact with on a daily basis. It is an ever-evolving process, and I look forward to growing with my readers.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT LIVING IN TUSCALOOSA? IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME YOU’RE AN ALABAMA FOOTBALL FAN?
Tuscaloosa is a really big small town. You have the perks of a small town community atmosphere juxtaposed with a massive university. Who wouldn’t love that winning combo? Speaking of winning, Roll Tide yesterday, today and tomorrow! The University of Alabama is my alma mater and my heart.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
Simplistic glamour. Pulled-together, but not overly fussy. Laid-back sophistication. It’s like you could head uptown, but you would rather be downtown. I gravitate towards a monochromic look, but thoroughly enjoy a great print.
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP FIVE BEAUTY PRODUCTS?
Younique Mascara. I am hooked for life. Lashes for days and no falsies! Say, what? MAC Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Skinfinish. It’s a beautiful highlighter that I also use as eye shadow. Two’fers are my jam. Jergens Natural Glow. It doesn’t streak or smell! Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner. The main thing is the mane thing. MAC Blacktrack Fluidline. A girl just needs her black eyeliner.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
I am now a mother to one super adorable French Bulldog, so my day begins with letting the little nugget out and feeding him! Oh, how things change. Hubs and I are usually bumping into each other getting ready in mad dash format after spending too much time playing with the baby. I am a Real Estate agent, so my schedule can change on a dime depending on when my clients want to view homes on the market. My peek time to write the text for my blog is typically morning, so that is on my agenda to accomplish before the rest of the world is ready to start looking at houses. Most evenings are spent with me doing research (tumblr, other blogs, etc.) while Hubs watches whatever sporting event happens to be on television. We have a great system! We are both very social, so you can catch us out and about on a regular basis. I’ve also been a violinist since the age of 5, and enjoy performing whenever possible.
WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU LIKE OUR READERS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
The fact that anyone is interested in my style, my thoughts, or literally anything about me is incredibly humbling! I count it as an absolute privilege to be able to share Love, Karis with the world.
